Women's 4x400 Relay Sets School Record at Trinity Invitational

HARTFORD, Conn. – The 4x400m relay of Alexis Melvin (Wilmington, Mass.), Kailin Fuller (Bowdoinham, Maine), Alina Newman (Santa Monica, Calif.), and Alexa Estes (Virginia Beach, Va.) broke the school record to lead the Connecticut College women's track and field team at the Trinity Invitational. 

100 Meters

  • Blessing Kieh (Monrovia, Liberia) claimed victory with a time of 12.03 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

200 Meters

  • Kieh claimed victory with a time of 24.82 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Brooke Schulze (Oceanport, N.J.) finished 13th with a time of 26.68, earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Naomi Brightman (Cornwall, Vt.) finished 21st with a time of 27.92 earning NESCAC qualification.

400 Meters

  • Brightman finished eighth with a time of 1:01.18 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

400m Hurdles

  • Liz Freeman (Maynard, Mass.) finished fourth with a time of 1:06.77 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

800 Meters

  • Katie Keating (Dorchester, Mass.) finished 18th with a time of 2:25.89 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Caroline Graziani (Concord, Mass.) finished 21st with a time of 2:26.80 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Juliet Provost (Seekonk, Mass.) finished 23rd with a time of 2:27.59 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Lea Adelman (Natick, Mass.) finished 24th with a time of 2:27.77 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Kaya Schwenke (Los Olivos, Calif.) finished 25th with a time of 2:28.62 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Maddy Plotnick (Brookline, Mass.) finished 28th with a time of 2:28.92 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Greta Schmitt (Hamburg, N.Y.) finished 31st with a time of 2:29.34 earning NESCAC qualification.

1500 Meters

  • Mary Lonergan (Andover, Mass.) finished 25th with a time of 5:04.06 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Annika Hegde (New York, N.Y.) finished 28th with a time of 5:08.31 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Julia Coyle (Pomfret Center, Conn.) finished 29th with a time of 5:08.47 earning NESCAC qualification.

Steeplechase

  • Cleo Kilpatrick (Minneapolis, Minn.) claimed victory with a time of 11:59.51 earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Lain Potter (Wareham, Mass.) finished third with a time of 12:43.97 earning NESCAC qualification.

5000 Meters Elite

  • Phoebe Drohan (Holliston, Mass.) finished ninth with a time of 19:39.50 earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Chase Ireland (Prospect, Conn.) finished 10th with a time of 19:40.58 earning NESCAC qualification.

4x400 Relay

  • The group of Melvin, Fuller, Newman, and Estes, claimed victory, setting a new school record time of 3:54.13.

Long Jump

  • Kieh claimed victory with a jump of 5.58m earning NESCAC and NE D3 qualification.

  • Anabelle Orth (Augusta, Maine) finished 18th with a jump of 4.63m earning NESCAC qualification.

Discus

  • Kate Stone (Audubon, Pa.) finished 18th with a throw of 26.05m earning NESCAC qualification.

Shot Put

  • Marly Jane Kasdon (Weston, Mass.) finished 20th with a throw of 9.50m earning NESCAC qualification.

Hammer

  • Kasdon finished 16th with a throw of 34.48m earning NESCAC qualification.

  • Maddy Thaxton (East Thetford, Vt.) finished 17th with a throw of 33.81m earning NESCAC qualification.

Conn returns to action next weekend for the NESCAC Championships which begin on Saturday, hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.
