NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Connecticut College women's tennis team earned its first NESCAC win of the season on Saturday afternoon, posting a 4-3 victory over Trinity College at the CC Tennis Courts.
The Camels have now won the last two meetings between the two programs. It also marked Conn's first home league win since 2018, which also came at the expense of the Bantams.
Doubles play featured narrow margins across the board—including a tiebreak on court three—as Conn nabbed a pair of wins to grab the early 1-0 advantage. The duo of
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) and
Mary Ella Prendergast (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) set the tone with a 6-4 win at the top spot, and the team of
Evin Cosar (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and
Teagan Skulley (Middletown, Mass.) battled to an 8-6 victory in a tiebreak to secure the crucial doubles point.
In singles, Kowalska kept the momentum on Conn's side with a decisive 6-1, 6-2 win at the top spot.
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) captured the next point by a 6-1, 6-2 final at No. 4, and
Asahi Goods (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) gave the Camels the team win with a 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 3.
