BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Connecticut College women's water polo team swept the weekly award from the Collegiate Water Polo Associations (CWPA) this week.
Emma Luna (Sr., Wahiawa, Hawaii) was named Player of the Week, leading Conn to a 15-6 win over Wheaton in the only game of the week. Luna tallied eight points on three goals and five assists, adding two steals, and six saves in goal.
Melia Lorch (Sr., Encinitas, Calif.) picked up Defensive Player of the Week after a strong all-around performance. Lorch contributed one goal, four assists, two steals, while adding four drawn exclusions.
Rounding out the awardees is June Aselton (Fy., Brooklyn, N.Y.) who claimed Rookie of the Week. Aselton played one quarter in goal, recording three saves, while contributing on the offensive side, with three goals, three steals, and two field blocks.
Conn (3-8, 2-6 CWPA) opens up CWPA Championship action against Macalester on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. in Norton, Mass.
