Estes Sets School Record in 800 Meters to Qualify for Finals at NCAA Championships

Kieh Earns All-America Second Team Honors in 100 Meters

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The Connecticut College women's track and field team returned to action, running in two more preliminaries on day two of the NCAA D3 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Alexa Estes (Virginia Beach, Va.) was the first Camel to hit the track, running in the prelims of the 800 meters. Estes was neck and neck with Keelee Leitzen from Loras across both laps, but the senior was able to sneak across the line in first, finishing with a school record time of 2:08.37 to clinch a spot in tomorrow's finals.

Blessing Kieh (Monrovia, Liberia) was the other Camel to hit the track on day two, running in the first heat of the 100 meters. Kieh finished sixth in her heat with a time of 11.89, and 10th overall, missing out on a spot in the final by 0.04 seconds. With the 10th place finish, the sophomore picks up All-America Second Team honors.

Conn returns to the track for the finals in four events beginning at approximately 2:25 p.m. with Grace McDonough (Londonderry, N.H.) in the 1500 meters final.
