NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College has hired Abbey Luth as assistant coach of the women's ice hockey program, as announced by head coach Kristin Steele on Monday.
Luth joins the Camels after spending the past three seasons as a coach for the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes. During her three seasons in Raleigh, Luth spent one season as the Head U19 Girls Tier 1 coach, one season as the Head U14 Girls Tier 1 Coach, and most recently as the Assistant U14 Boys Tier Coach.
"I am excited to welcome Abbey to our coaching staff," said Steele. "Her experience as an elite player, youth coach, and strength and conditioning coach makes her a tremendous addition to our program. She is passionate about all aspects of player development and brings the energy, knowledge, and leadership that will help our student-athletes succeed in each area of their Connecticut College experience."
A forward, who spent her first season at William Smith, where she was named United Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Year, Luth transferred to Nazareth in 2019 for her final four years. At Nazareth, Luth appeared in 91 games across four seasons, recording 106 points on 47 goals and 59 assists. A two-time UCHC All-Conference selection for the Golden Flyers, Luth led Nazareth to back-to-back UCHC titles in 2021-22 and 2022-23, as well as two appearances in the NCAA tournament. For her career, Luth ranks third all-time at Nazareth in points and goals, while ranking fourth in assists.
Following graduation, Luth moved to Raleigh, where she also worked as a strength and conditioning coach at The Strength Feed for a year and a half, before becoming the lead strength and conditioning coach at the Athletic Republic in January 2025. Additionally, Luth is a Level 4 USA Hockey certified coach and was a 2025 coaching intern at the USA Hockey Girl's 16/17 National Camp.
A native of Dartmouth, Mass., Luth graduated from Nazareth in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
