NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Connecticut College men's water polo swept the first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation East Division weekly awards, with
Cormac Stevens (Philadelphia, Pa.) being named Player of the Week, and
Laird Welch (Carmel, Calif.) being named Newcomer of the Week.
Stevens led the Camels across season-opening games against D-I opponents Long Island and Air Force in Providence, RI (Aug. 30). In the opener against LIU, Stevens recorded two goals and one drawn exclusion, before adding two power play goals in the nightcap against Air Force. This is the first career MPSF weekly award for Stevens. Â

Conn returns to action this weekend, as the Camels travel to Washington, Pa. for four games beginning at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday against Gannon University.
