HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College senior Marco Perugini (Medway, Mass.) was named New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the sport of men's soccer, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Perugini led Conn. College to a season-opening 3-1 at Amherst, tallying three points. Perugini set up the opening goal, delivering a free kick into the box that found its way to senior Charlie Miles (Tarrytown, N.Y.) to give the Camels a 1-0 lead. Late in the second half, the Camels were awarded a penalty. Perugini stepped up and slotted the ball home to extend the Conn. College's lead to 3-0. The win was the Camels' first in Amherst since 2011.

Perugini earns his second career Player of the Week honor after earning the distinction last season.

Conn returns to action on Tuesday afternoon as the Camels host Emerson at 4:30 p.m. on Silfen Field.
