Ken Colombe '20 enters his fourth season on the sidelines with the men's basketball program and second as a student assistant coach in 2019-20. He is responsible for assisting head coach Tim Sweeney with all aspects of the program.
This past winter and spring, Colombe had the opportunity to work directly with the Indiana Pacers front office as their basketball operations intern. In this role, he gained hands-on experience with special projects involving free agency and draft prep while also completing other essential daily office duties as needed. Furthermore, he spent the summer working for the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun as their basketball intern. With the Sun, his responsibilities included on-court player development, video work, and assisting with free agency and draft prep for the organization.
In addition to being involved with the Connecticut College basketball program, NBA, and WNBA, Colombe has also been actively engaged in student life at the institution. He has held multiple positions with the Student Government Association, including Class President, and has also been involved with the Peggotty Investment Club. Furthermore, he has tutored other students in statistics and has assisted with gameday operations and statistics through the sports information department.
On the scholastic level, Colombe was a three-year letterwinner and two-time captain with the boys’ basketball program at Mid-Pacific in Hawaii. He also attended The Pomfret School in Connecticut for a year and helped the program post the best overall record in school history and advance to the quarterfinal round of the NEPSAC Class B Tournament in 2017.
A native of Kailua, Hawaii, Colombe is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics with minors in finance and applied statistics. He hopes to pursue a career within an NBA front office in a basketball operations capacity after graduation.
