Patrick Mahoney

Patrick Mahoney enters his second season with the Connecticut College men's basketball program in 2024-25.

Mahoney previously served as an assistant coach at Baruch College for the 2022-23 season under head coach John Alesi. He helped lead the program to a 22-6 record and an NCAA Tournament berth in his debut season. The Bearcats also won their second-straight City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) tournament title, clinching the league's automatic bid with wins over Hunter College and Lehman College.

Mahoney joined the coaching ranks after an impressive career as a student-athlete at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. A two-year captain who recorded more than 1,000 points and 400 rebounds over a pandemic-shortened career, he averaged a team-high 15.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 27.8 minutes per game as a senior while leading the Engineers to a Sweet 16 berth in the NCAA Tournament.

During the 2019-20 season he was named both Liberty League and NABC East Region Player of the Year, and was a First Team NABC Division III All-American while guiding RPI to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
