Brendan Dooley is in his first season as the associate men’s lacrosse coach at Connecticut College. He is responsible for assisting head coach Jim Nagle with all aspects of the program and serves as the program’s defensive coordinator.
Dooley most recently served as a graduate assistant coach at Springfield College following an outstanding playing career at the school. He was heavily involved with a priority on developing defensive game plans and scouting reports for each game, organizing and executing the offensive scout, and coordinating the program’s social media presence most notably during a full 2019 season. The 2019 team finished with an 11-10 record, won the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship, and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to returning to Springfield, Dooley worked with Nagle at Stony Brook University as the director of operations. In this position, he assisted with the development of student-athletes, worked directly with the scout defense, and ran drills during practices.
Dooley was an accomplished player himself for the Pride at Springfield. The defensive midfielder earned NEWMAC First Team All-Conference recognition four times during his career and was also selected as a USILA Honorable Mention All-American following his junior season.
Following his senior year, Dooley became the fourth Pride men’s lacrosse player to be drafted in the 2017 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Draft when he was selected 77th overall by the Boston Cannons. In addition to repeating as NEWMAC Men’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Year, he was selected to play in the annual USILA North/South Senior All-Star Game, the NEILA East/West All-Star Game, and he helped the Pride win four consecutive NEWMAC titles.
On the scholastic level, Dooley played under legendary coach Mike Hoppey at perennial powerhouse Ward Melville High School. In his senior year, he led the Patriots to an undefeated season and the 2013 New York State Championship.
A native of Setauket, New York, Dooley earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Springfield College in 2017 and a master’s in Physical Education from the same institution in 2020.
