Jan Merrill-Morin, a former US Olympian and World and American record-holder, joined the Camel coaching staff in 2015 to assist with the women’s distance runners. 

Merrill-Morin graduated from Connecticut College in 1979 and is a member of the college’s Athletic Hall of Fame. She was a finalist in the 1,500 meters at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal and held World and/or US national records in the 1,000 meters, 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters.  She won the individual Silver Medal at the 1981 World Cross Country Championship and was part of two Gold Medal winning US teams at the 1979 and 1983 World Cross Country Championships. 

Merrill-Morin has additional collegiate coaching experience at Rutgers University, the United States Coast Guard Academy, and Mitchell College, along with many years of high school coaching in the local area.
