Charlie Berman

Charlie Berman joins the Connecticut College men's rowing program as an assistant coach in 2024-25.

Berman makes his collegiate coaching debut with the Camels. A former rower at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, he reunites with his former coach in Cian Noone, who served as an assistant with the Bobcats from 2021-23.

Berman rowed at Lower Merion High School before enjoying a decorated career at Bates. In four years with the Bobcats—including three in the first varsity boat—he was a two-time All-NESCAC second team selection (2023, 2024), a first team IRCA DIII All-American (2023), and a team captain as a senior. His boat also took bronze at the 2023 D-III IRA National Championships, the best-ever finish in Bates program history.

Berman’s previous coaching experience came at the junior rowing level, where he spent two summers as a varsity coach at the Whitemarsh Boat Club. He worked with the U17 and U19 programs and taught technique and skills while overseeing all practices and regattas.

Berman graduated from Bates with a degree in economics.
