    Assistant Women's Soccer Coach
Marissa Fortuna enters her first season as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program in 2026.

Fortuna joins the Camels after spending the past year as an assistant coach under Simons at Vassar College. Prior to that she served a two-year stint as a graduate assistant coach at St. Lawrence University.

Fortuna was part of Vassar’s historic 2025 season that yielded a 16-4 overall record—a single season record for wins—and the program’s first Liberty League regular season title. The Brewers went on to capture the Liberty League Championship for the first time in school history, earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. Following the season the Vassar staff was tabbed both Liberty League and USC Region III Coaching Staff of the Year.

In addition to her coaching duties, Fortuna contributed to the Vassar community as both a facilities assistant and the assistant director of youth summer camps. She also served as director of coaching for the Town of Poughkeepsie Soccer Club, working to develop and implement innovative training methods and practice plans to support club growth.

In two seasons at St. Lawrence, Fortuna was involved in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the program. On the field, she was responsible for planning, executing and evaluating training sessions as well as planning weekly speed and weightlifting programs. She also coordinated the program's recruiting efforts; evaluating performance, building relationships with prospects and managing schedules for overnight, official and unofficial visits.

A native of Burlington, CT, Fortuna was a two-sport student-athlete at the University of Saint Joseph where she lettered in soccer and lacrosse. She was also a four-time academic all-conference selection, a member of Kappa Delta Phi and Chi Alpha Sigma, and earned Dean's List honors in each of her eight semesters.

Fortuna graduated from USJ in 2023 with a degree in special education and elementary education, and went on to earn a Masters in Leadership from St. Lawrence in 2025.
