Matt Mancini

Matt Mancini joined Connecticut College as Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Operations in January 2020. He takes over in this role for Mo White, who has moved into the role of Director of Athletics for the Camels.

Mancini spent the previous eight years with the United States Merchant Marine Academy as the Director of Football Operations. In this role, he led the USMMA football program's recruiting efforts. This included handling all budgeting for the program, managing travel and transportation, and coordinated all video exchanges. While there, the Mariners won the 2017 ECAC Chapman Bowl and were the 2018 New England Bowl champions. Some of his additional roles at USMMA included assisting the Athletic Business Manager with departmental duties, event management, and serving as an assistant baseball coach for four seasons.

Before joining the Mariners’ staff, Mancini was the Assistant Director of Football Operations at Princeton University during the 2011 season. His responsibilities included managing video operations, coordinating all junior varsity football team operations, and maintaining the team’s social media efforts.

During the 2010-11 season, Mancini was an intern for the Georgetown Hoyas football operations staff, and he also worked for the NFL’s Washington Redskins as a Game Day Operations Assistant. With the Redskins, Mancini was responsible for setting up and maintaining the Shirley Povich Press Box for home games, delivering statistics to coaches and media members, and recording and transcribing post-game interviews for media use.

Mancini also worked as an intern for the Vermont Lake Monsters, which is the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, during the summer of 2009 in Burlington, Vermont. Furthermore, he served the Hamilton College Sports Information Department as a statistician, and he interned for the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League prior to his stint in Minor League Baseball with the Lake Monsters.

A native of Fonda, New York, Mancini earned his bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College in 2010 and his master’s degree from Georgetown University in 2011. At Hamilton, he was a member of the football and baseball teams.
