Connecticut College 147, Trinity College 75 Pielock Contributes to Two Winning Relays in Final Home Meet for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn. --The Connecticut College men's swimming and diving team earned a 147-75 win against visiting Trinity College in a dual meet held at Lott Natatorium Monday.

 The Camels improved their record to a 6-3 with their second straight win. In a pre-meet ceremony, seniors Matt Newton (Sudbury, Mass.) and Chris Pielock (South Deerfield, Mass.) were honored for their four years of service to the program.
 
Sophomore Bo Martin (West Hartford, Conn.) had a huge day for the home team, finishing with wins in both the 200 yard individual medley (2:03.20) and the one mile freestyle with a time of 16:42.67.
 
Patrick McGinnis (Middletown, R.I.) posted a winning time of 21.91 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle.  Freshman Drew Andre` (Carlisle, Mass.) chipped in with a victory in the 100 yard free, logging a time of 48.94 seconds for the Camels. In the 200 yard free, junior All-American Sam Gill (Springfield, Ill.) continued his torrid stretch of swimming with a victory in 1:45.57.

Sophmore Sean Paquette (Middletown, R.I.) secured another Camel win in the 200 yard back with a time of 1:58.84. In the 200 yard breast, Dylan Steiner (Petaluma, Calif.) triumphed in 2:13.29 for Connecticut College.

The Camels swept the two relays Monday. In the 200 yard medley relay, the Camel quartet consisting of Sean Paquette, Cam Johnson (Westford, Mass.), Christopher Pielock and Sam Gill triumphed in 1:37.85.  Loring Bowen (Summit, N.J.), Emil Henry (East Hampton, N.Y.), Pielock and Gill tacked on another Camel win with a time of 3:17.42 in the 400 yard free relay.

 

The Camels will head north to the Granite State of New Hampshire to compete in the Dartmouth College Invitational this weekend.
