"We gave a good effort today but we had our chances," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said. "We need to do better on both sides of the ball. Our shot selection in the first half really wasn't what it needs to be and we didn't help each other enough on defense in the second half."
Green scored 11 of his 16 points in the opening half to vault the visitors out to a 42-30 lead at the break.
The Camels were within eight at 50-42 when Lopez converted a hoop with the harm at the 14:48 mark to cap a 6-0 run.
Amherst responded with 10-2 run of their own and Workman capped the rally with a field goal and one with 9:09 to go.
The hosts continue to battle and reduced the deficit to 74-65 when Jared Shill (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) converted a pair of free throws with one minute left.
But the Camels could not get any closer and the Lord Jeffs were able to hold on for the 77-67 triumph.
