Spencer Leads Camels to First Win of Season at Brown Tournament

 

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The Connecticut College men's water polo team made a short drive north to the Renaissance City of Providence for a weekend tournament at Brown University. 

The Camels posted a 1-2 record in the Ocean State. Connecticut College opened the season with a 17-5 setback to the host Bears of Brown. But in their second match, the Camels scored a clutch victory against a familiar rival in Washington & Jefferson College. Sunday afternoon, St. Francis College secured a 14-4 victory against the Camels.

Sophomore Carlos Heros (Key Biscayne, Fla.) got off to a fast start for the Camels, finishing the weekend with seven goals scored, 11 steals, four earned ejections, and one assist.

Junior Robert Spencer (Chevy Chase, Md.) erupted with five goals, two steals and two blocked shots to lead the Camels in their victory against W & J. Nick DiLeo (Coopersburg, Pa.) chipped in with three goals, nine steals, five assists and one earned ejection this weekend.

Senior Jason Robb (Winnetka, Ill.) and sophomore William Bogle (Weston, Mass.) both contributed with goals this weekend. Henry McMillan (New York, N.Y.) potted a pair of goals to go along with five steals and a blocked shot. 

Aidan Kelso (Washington, D.C.) registered four steals for the Camels. Sophomore Daniel Albers (Aloha, Ore.) averaged 9.7 saves per start in the Cage, recording 29 blocked shots to go with four steals and two assists.
