Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn--Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) buried 11 kills with just two errors on 23 hits to lead the Connecticut College volleyball team to its second NESCAC shutout win of the weekend in a 3-0 blanking of Bates College today.
The set scores were 25-19, 25-22 and 25-9 in favor of the Camels.
The Camels improved their record to 10-5 with a 2-4 mark in the NESCAC. The visiting Bobcats slipped to 6-10 with a 2-5 record in conference play.
Hunter registered a .409 hitting percentage in the triumph. She added six digs, a pair of aces and one solo block to her stat line.
Senior Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) chipped in with eight kills, four aces, one dig and one block. Rookie outside hitter Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) rifled home eight kills and had six digs, three aces and two blocks. Junior middle blocker Ella Johnson (Seal Beach, Calif.) checked in with six kills, three blocks and two digs.
Sophomore setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) dished out 31 assists in the win, adding five digs, one kill and one block.
Bates College junior outside hitter Chandler McGrath (Seal Beach, Calif.) had nine kills, two assists, two digs and two blocks to lead the visitors. Nicole Peraica (East Northport, N.Y.) and Lisa Slivken (New York, N.Y.) both had four kills in the match for Bates. Jacqueline Forney (Bloomington, Ind.) doled out 12 assists while adding four digs for the Bobcats.
Senior libero Laryssa Schepel (Flemington, N.J.) collected 14 digs in the match.
Bates returns home to host Hamilton College Friday night for an 8:00 p.m. NESCAC match.
The Camels will host the Simmons College Sharks this Tuesday night for a 7:00 p.m. match in Luce Field House.
