Bowdoin College 3, Connecticut College 0 Hunter Tallies Six Kills & Six Digs for Camels

BRUNSWICK, Maine --Bowdoin College earned a 3-0 victory against Connecticut College in NESCAC action played at Morrell Gymnasium Friday night.

The set scores were 25-10, 25-10 and 26-24 in favor of the hosts, who improved their record to 8-3 (3-0 NESCAC) with their sixth consecutive win. The Camels slipped to 6-5 and are 0-4 in conference play.

Sophomore outside hitter Michelle Albright (Los Altos, Calif.) and senior Christy Jewett (Sunnyvale, Calif.) posted double-doubles for the Polar Bears. Albright buried 10 kills to go with her 10 digs while Jewett rifled home 10 kills while adding 12 digs.

Connecticut College sophomore Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) accounted for six kills, six digs, four assists and a pair of blocked shots. Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) added five kills and nine digs.  Caroline Branigan (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) collected 13 digs while sophomore Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) doled out 13 assists.

The Camels will play a pair of non-conference matches against Clark University and Farmingdale State in Worcester, Mass. tomorrow.

Chasing 1,000 digs:

Senior Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) posted five digs in Friday night's match; she needs just 26 kills to reach the 1,000 dig barrier in her prolific playing career.
