Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Coast Guard secured a 3-1 victory against Connecticut College in volleyball action played at Luce Field House Friday.
The visiting Bears improved their record to 17-7. The Camels (15-5), ranked #7 in New England, had their eight match winning streak snapped with the loss.
The set scores were 26-24, 25-21, 22-25 and 25-21.
Junior Susan West (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) buried 14 kills and had eight digs for the Bears. Senior Ashley Dumont (Silver Spring, Md.) added nine kills and a pair of blocks in the victory. Senior setter Maggie Hine (Richmond, Va.) dished out 32 assists and had five digs.
Sophomore libero Michelle McGill (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) registered 21 digs.
Connecticut College junior Ella Johnson (Seal Beach, Calif.) and sophomore Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) buried 13 kills each. Hunter added 10 kids to finish with the double-double while Johnson added six digs, two blocks and a pair of aces. Senior Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) collected 11 digs.
Sophomore Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) dished out 37 assists.
The Camels will host Johnson & Wales University Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. match in New London.
