Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College volleyball team celebrated fall weekend in New London with a thrilling 3-0 shutout victory against Colby College in front of 229 fans at Luce Field House Friday night.
The set scores were 27-25, 25-23 and 25-12 in favor of the hosts.
The Camels improved their record to 9-5 and are 1-4 in the NESCAC. The Mules slipped to 7-8 with a 3-3 mark in conference action.
Connecticut College rookie outside hitter Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) erupted with 10 kills and six digs to lead the hosts in the blanking. Kellogg registered an impressive .529 hitting percentage for the Camels. Sophomore Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) chipped in with eight kills, two aces, two digs and two assists for the hosts.
Senior Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) contributed with six kills, three aces and a pair of digs. Sophomore setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) dished out 30 assists for the winning side.
Colby College senior middle blocker Kim Donaldson (Colorado Springs, Colo.) had nine kills and two blocks to lead the visitors in the setback. Paige Hanssen (Earlysville, Va.) contributed with seven kills and three digs for the Mules. Sophomore setter Emily Moslener (Leonardstown, Md.) doled out 16 assists to go along with her four digs and one ace.
The Camels will host Bates College tomorrow afternoon for a 2:00 p.m. NESCAC match up in Luce Field House.
