Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine --(Bowdoin College) Third-seeded Amherst swept sixth-seeded Connecticut College in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Tournament on Friday evening at Morrell Gymnasium, 3-0.
The Jeffs improve to 22-3 and will face rival Williams in the semifinals on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Camels end their campaign with a record of 17-7
Game Highlights
- The Jeffs earned the win by set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 25-15
- Amherst was led by the balanced offensive attack of Lizzie Ahern and Maggie Danner who finished with 12 and 11 kills respectively, while Katie Warshaw and Nicole Carter paced the defensive effort with 17 and 12 digs respectively.
- Carter also handed out 31 assists, Nicole Gould finished with seven kills and seven digs, and Ahern provided nine digs in the winning effort. Hayes Honea chipped in eight digs, while Marialexa Natsis and Carter contributed two assisted blocks each.
- Connecticut College was led by Sam Hunter who finished with eight kills, while Cailyn Straubel led three Camels with double digit digs (18). Caroline Martin followed with 13 digs, while Caroline Branigan chipped in 11.
- Katia Elisman notched 19 of the team's 22 assists in the loss.
