THOUSAND OAKS Calif.--The Connecticut College women's water polo team is competing on the West Coast this week.
The Camels (0-5) dropped an 11-8 decision to George Washington University at Cal Lutheran Wednesday. Connecticut College dropped a 15-3 decision to Chapman University in Orange, Calif. Monday.
The team opened its season with three losses to Division I foes at Harvard University. Connecticut College dropped a 16-2 decision to the Harvard Crimson Saturday and dropped a 17-4 decision to Iona before they wrapped up the weekend with a 17-7 loss to VMI.
Four of these first five matches have been played against Division I opposition.
In the loss to the Colonials of GW, senior Isabelle Baneux (Ithaca, N.Y.) had three goals, two assists and one steal to lead the Camels in the setback. Junior Kelsey Millward (Baie D'Urfe, Quebec) and sophomore Brianna Harrity (Jeffersonville, Pa.) both finished with two goals and two steals for the Camels. Senior All-American Nicolle Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) accounted for a goal and an assist.
Junior Ashley Amey (Napa, Calif.) made six saves in the contest.
Senior All-American Kate Jacobson (Collegeville, Pa.) leads the Camels on offense in the early season with seven goals and two assists. Baneux has five goals, four assists and five steals. Jasbon has one goal, four assists and six steals.
Amey has made 13 saves in the cage.
Connecticut College will take on Cal Lutheran later on today at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
