THOUSAND OAKS Calif.--The Connecticut College women's water polo team is competing on the West Coast this week.
The Camels (0-6) dropped a 12-8 decision to Cal Lutheran University Wednesday night.
The match was tied at three after one quarter and the Camels trailed 7-6 at the half. The Camels drew six ejections in the close contest.
Senior All-American Nicky Jasbon (pictured, Greenacres, Fla.) had four goals, one assist and two steals. Isabelle Baneux (Ithaca, N.Y.) chipped in with two goals, one assist and a pair of steals. Sophomore Brianna Harrity (Jeffersonville, Pa.) had one goal and two assist.
Shannon Cry (Monterey, Calif.) contributed with one goal and one assist. Junior Kelsey Millward (Baie D'Urfe, Quebec) registered three steals while adding one blocked shot.
Junior Ashley Amey (Napa, Calif.) made five saves while sophomore Susan Doetsch (Arnold, Md.) recorded one save and one steal in the setback.
Baneux leads the Camels with seven goals and four assists in the early season. Senior All-Americans Kate Jacobson (7 goals, 2 assists) and Jasbon (5 goals, 4 assist) have been key contributors for Head Coach Matt Anderson's Camels.
Millward and Jasbon have accounted for eight steals each. Amey has recorded 18 saves in the cage.
The Camels will play two more matches at Cal Lutheran today.
