Camels Post Perfect 7-0 Record in Opening Weekend of Conference Play

MONMOUTH, Ill.—The Connecticut College women's water polo team posted a perfect 7-0 record in Division III action at Monmouth College this weekend.

The Camels (8-10) followed up Friday's sweep with three more wins on Saturday. Connecticut College notched a 14-7 victory against Washington & Jefferson College. Later on in the day, the Camels secured a 14-7 victory against Carthage before closing out the triple-header with a 15-8 triumph over the Pioneers from Utica College.

Sunday morning, the Camels closed out the weekend with 13-4 victory against Grove City College of Pennsylvania.

In the final four matches of the weekend, junior Kelsey Millward (Baie D'Urfe, Quebec) had 12 goals, five assists and 10 steals to lead the Camels. Senior All-American Kate Jacobson (Collegeville, Pa.) netted 10 goals while adding three assists and four steals. Classmate and All-American Nicky Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) capped off her weekend with 10 goals, six helpers and 14 steals.

Senior Isabelle Baneux (Ithaca, N.Y.) accounted for eight goals, five assists and five steals. Sophmore Brianna Harrity (Jeffersonville, Pa.) had three goals, six assists and one steal. Shannon Cry (Monterey, Calif.) scored three goals, dished out six assists and grabbed six steals for the Camels.

Senior Abbey Wrobleski (Honolulu, Hawaii) scored three goals, dished out a pair of assists and grabbed four steals for Head Coach Matt Anderson's Camels.

Junior Ashley Amey (Napa, Calif.) made 10 saves in the victory against W & J with three of those stops occurring during 6-on-5 situations.  Sophomore Susan Doetsch (Arnold, Md.) finished with 10 stops in the victory against Carthage College. In the triumph over Utica, Sarah Pursley (Menlo Park, Calif.) had nine saves and one steal in another strong performance in the cage.

Sophomore Sarah Sovia (Pottstown, Pa.) had three saves and one steal in relief duty.

Millward has accounted for 38 goals, 17 assists and 36 steals for the Camels.  Jacobson has contributed with 34 goals, nine assists and 16 steals. Jasbon has scored 26 goals, dished out 20 assists and collected 39 steals for the Camels.

Connecticut College will play seven home matches in New London next weekend.
