NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College women's water polo is hosting a Division III regional in Lott Natatorium this weekend.
The Camels (10-10) opened the weekend with a pair of victories to extend their winning streak to nine games.
In the early match, the Camels defeated Carthage College 11-5. Later on in the day, Connecticut College knocked off Grove City in a 10-2 triumph.
Junior Kelsey Millward (Baie D'Urfe, Quebec) erupted with six goals, two assists and four steals to lead the Camels past Carthage. Senior All-American Nicky Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) chipped in with two goals, one assist and two steals. Senior All-American Kate Jacobson (Collegeville, Pa.) finished with one goal, three assists and three steals for the winning side.
Isabelle Baneux (Ithaca, N.Y.) had one goal, one assist and one steal. Junior Ashley Amey (Napa, Calif.) had eight saves and one steal in goal. Sophomore Susan Doetsch (Arnold, Md.) made five saves in relief duty.
In the second half of the double header, Millward had four goals, one assist, one field block and five steals. Jasbon recorded a hat-trick with three goals and two steals. Jacobson induced eight turnovers while adding two goals and two assists. Abbey Wrobleski (Honolulu, Hawaii) finished with one goal and one assist.
Sarah Pursley (Menlo Park, Calif.) contributed with four saves and one assist. Doetsch had three saves.
The Camels will play three more matches tomorrow. At 2 p.m., the Camels will clash with Washington & Jefferson College in a rematch of the 2014 Division III Championship game.
