PRINCETON, N.J.--The Connecticut College women's water polo team is competing in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship at Princeton University this weekend.
The Camels (18-14) dropped a 14-4 decision to Division I Bucknell University (12-12) in the opening round of play today.
They will play Princeton or George Washington University tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in their second match of the weekend.
Senior Isabelle Baneux (Ithaca, N.Y.) had two goals and two assists to lead the Camels in the setback. Baneux has accounted for 44 goals and 46 assists in her senior campaign. Junior Kelsey Millward (Baie D'Urfe, Quebec) scored her team-leading 69th goal of the season while adding a pair of steals.
Senior All-American Kate Jacobson (Collegeville, Pa.) chipped in with her 192nd career marker in the setback.
Senior All-American Nicky Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) dished out one assist while adding three steals and a pair of field blocks. Junior Abbey Wrobleski (Honolulu, Hawaii) added one helper.
Shannon Cry (Monterey, Calif.) collected one steal.
Sophomore net-minder Susan Doetsch (Arnold, Md.) made three saves and had one steal.
Sophomore Sarah Sovia (Pottstown, Pa.) had one stop in relief duty.
