Box Score 2 PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The Connecticut College volleyball team posted a 3-1 record at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales University and Roger Williams University this weekend in the Ocean State.
The Camels (4-1) secured a 3-0 victory against Bridgewater State (25-22, 25-18, 25-12) and held off a talented Roger Williams squad in five sets Friday night, taking a 3-2 decision. The set scores against the Hawks were 25-22, 12-25, 18-25, 29-27 and 15-11.
Saturday afternoon, the Camels dropped a 3-1 decision to Gustavus Adolphus (15-25, 25-21, 11-25 and 15-25) before closing out the weekend with a 3-0 triumph over Western Connecticut State University with set scores of 26-24, 25-17 and 25-22.
Senior Alex McDevitt of Medfield, Mass. was honored on the All-Tournament team for the Camels.
McDevitt buried a match-high 20 kills while adding eight kills and two digs in Friday night's win against Roger Williams. Sophomore Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) accounted for 15 kills and 16 digs en route to a double-double in the win against RWU. Sophomore setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) dished out 43 assists while adding 13 digs in the triumph.
Senior Cailyn Straubel (Dallas, Texas) posted 13 digs while Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) added nine.
