Box Score

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Isaiah Robinson (Lynn, Mass.) knocked down a baseline jumper with 26 seconds left to put his team ahead for good and Colin Pascoe (Somers, Conn.) provided a key steal in the closing moments to lead the Connecticut College men's basketball team to a 79-75 NESCAC victory against a talented Hamilton College squad at Luce Field House Friday night.

Winners in eight of their last nine outings, the Camels improved their record to 8-3 and are 1-0 in NESCAC play. The Continentals fell to 7-5 and are 0-1 in conference action.

Rookie point guard Tyler Rowe (East Hartford, Conn.) poured in a game-high 19 points and dished out six assists to lead the Camels in the backcourt. Robinson finished with 14 points in 24 minutes off the bench, connecting on 7-of-10 shots from the field.  Zuri Pavlin (New York, N.Y.) chipped in with 12 point and six rebounds for the winning side.

David Labossiere (Stoneham, Mass.) had 11 points and six rebounds and junior Daniel Janel (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) reached double figures with 10 points and six rebounds.

"We are very fortunate to win against Hamilton who played an excellent game," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said. "There were a few times I thought we could have pulled away but they kept coming. We still have a lot to improve upon and hopefully we can get a little bit better tomorrow."

Senior forward Ajani Santos (Bronx, N.Y.) was 9-for-14 from the field en route to his team-best 18 points for the Continentals. Peter Hoffmann (Putnam Valley, N.Y.)  finished with 15 points and five boards.  Jack Dwyer (Monroe, N.Y.) dished out a game-high 14 assists to go with his 10 points.

The Camels took a 62-53 lead with 9:31 remaining in the second half when Lee Messier (Narragansett, R.I.) made a nice feed to Pascoe for a hoop and the Camels had matched their largest lead of the night.

But Hamilton stormed back to take a 73-72 lead when Hoffmann dialed long distance with 2:01 remaining. The Camels regained their lead when Pavlin corralled an offensive board and put one back in with 1:28 to go. Hoffmann broke the ninth tie of the game when he drained a pair of free throws with 35 seconds to go.

But Rowe was able to dribble and dish to Robinson for the go ahead basket with 26 seconds left.

Rowe added some insurance when he netted a pair of free throws with five seconds left. Hamilton had one last possession but Pascoe intercepted the ball at mid court and the Camels were able to hold on for the 79-75 triumph.
