Women's Water Polo Concludes CWPA Weekend Action With 16-10 Setback to Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Connecticut College women's water polo team fell to host Grove City by a 16-10 score to conclude a three-game weekend of CWPA action on Saturday morning.

After the Wolverines' Elaine Miller scored the first two goals of the game, sophomore captain Stephania Lopez (Chicago, Ill.) answered back with back-to-back markers for Connecticut College. However, Miller struck again to spark a 4-0 run to keep the hosts ahead for good. Grove City led 8-4 at the half and outscored the Camels by an 8-6 margin over the final 16 minutes to come away with the win.

Sophomore Brooklynn Hayes (Granville, Mass.) scored five goals for the second time in three games while also tallying an assist to lead the way for Connecticut College. Junior captain Ginny McCool (Delray Beach, Fla.) made strong contributions on both ends by finishing with two goals, two steals, one field block and one save while playing between the posts.

Connecticut College (6-7) will wrap up regular season play against CWPA Division III opponents when it travels to face Utica on Friday, Apr. 5 at 5 p.m.
