NEW LONDON, Conn. - Senior
Maddie Ford (Acton, Mass.) and sophomore
Sarah Franco (Weston, Conn.) each factored into four winning performances in leading the Connecticut College women's swim team to a 209-96 dual meet victory against Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon at the Lott Natatorium.
Franco won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.53, the 200 breast in 2:31.81 and the 200 IM in 2:14.03. She also swam the breaststroke leg for the winning 200 medley relay which touched the wall in 1:51.55 to start the meet along with juniors
Tiernan Shea (Grafton, Mass.), Abby Martin (Norton, Mass.), and
Anika Svoboda (Westford, Mass.).
Ford captured the 200 free in 1:55.84, the 50 free in 24.40 seconds, and the 100 fly in 58.83. She also anchored the winning 400 free relay with 3:42.59 to end the meet which also featured sophomore
Marie-Eve Hebert (Princeton, N.J.), Svoboda, and junior
Vaughn Ammon (Franklin, Tenn.).
Three other Camels won at least two events. Shea took the 100 back and 200 back in 58.91 and 2:11.65. Ammon was victorious in the 100 free and 500 free in 54.20 and 5:24.39, respectively, and freshman
Kelsey Halio (Westford, Mass.) won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with scores of 168.60 and 155.55.
Connecticut College (2-0) will resume competition at the beginning of the New Year on January 7, 2022 against Grinnell in Naples, Florida.
