NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's lacrosse team dropped its opening game of the 2021 campaign to No. 18 Trinity by a 19-2 score on Saturday afternoon at Silfen Field.
The Camels struck first when sophomore
Emily Yorns (Longmeadow, Mass.) netted an unassisted tally less than two minutes into the contest. However, Trinity (2-0) responded with 16 unanswered goals through the middle of the second half and never looked back.
Christine Taylor was credited with a team-leading six points on two goals and four assists for Trinity, which had 12 different players find the back of the net. Marcella Filbotte won five draws, and Ellie Kirkpatrick netted a hat trick. Gabriella Young earned the victory between the posts by making six saves.
Yorns paced Connecticut College (0-1) by netting both goals and winning five draws. Sophomore
Jordan Barbagallo (Mahopac, N.Y.) set aside seven shots in her first career start in net.
