Three Camel Sailors Race At Singlehanded National Championships In Rhode Island

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Connecticut College sailing program had three Camels compete at the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships over the weekend.
 
Sophomore Aili Moffet (Jamestown, R.I.) was the highest finisher by placing 11th among 14 competitors at the women's championship event. She accumulated 138 points and finished ahead of sailors from Tufts and Old Dominion.
 
Freshmen Andrew Powers (Rye, N.Y.) and Willem Weinberg (Providence, R.I.) represented the Camels on the men's side. Powers placed 38th among 41 sailors with 468 points, while Weinberg was 40th with 550.
 
"This was a great learning experience and weekend for our young Camels," said head coach Jeff Bresnahan. "We will now focus on training to get ready for next year's championship events."
