GREENSBORO, N.C. – Connecticut College sophomore
Matt Carter (Manchester, Mass.) competed in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at North Carolina A&T's Irwin Belk Track on Thursday evening.
Carter, who is the first Camel student-athlete in any sport to compete at an NCAA Championship event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, finished 15th overall by clocking in a time of 31:30.57 in his last race of the season. Senior Jared Pangallozzi of Johns Hopkins ran the fastest time of 29:55.42 to pace a group of 17 student-athletes who were competing in the event.
The Camels graduated six seniors and are slated to return three all-region performers, including Carter, and more than 20 letterwinners overall next season.
