Vaughn Ammon (Franklin, Tenn.), and classmate
Tiernan Shea (Grafton, Mass.) each factored into four winning events which contributed to the Connecticut College women's swimming and diving team's triumph over Vassar by a lopsided 220-61 decision at Vassar College on Monday afternoon.
Higgins posted top finishes in the 200 and 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM with times 2:11.51, 58.70, and 2:14.80, respectively. She also swam the butterfly leg of the 200 medley relay which finished in 1:49.94 and included Shea, sophomore
Sarah Franco (Weston, Conn.), and Ammon.
Ammon won the 200 and 100 free with marks of 1:58.25 and 55.02 seconds. She also swam the second leg of the 400 free relay which registered a time of 3:38.19 and included Shea, sophomore
Marie-Eve Hebert (Princeton, N.J.), and senior
Maddie Ford (Acton, Mass.).
Furthermore, Shea placed first in both backstroke events. She captured the 100 in 58.40 and the 200 in 2:09.54.
Ford and Franco additionally posted two top finishes for Conn. Ford won the 50 and 500 free in 25.06 and 5:09.71, and Franco was victorious in the 200 breast in 2:31.37 and 400 IM in 4:42.19.
Freshman
Kelsey Halio (Westford, Mass.) won both the 1 meter and 3-meter diving events with scores 172.00 and 157.10.
Connecticut College (2-2) will next compete against Amherst in Massachusetts on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
