Men's Ice Hockey Falls To Williams 4-1

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 matchup with NESCAC opponent Williams on Saturday afternoon at Dayton Arena

The Ephs set the tempo early, scoring their first goal 11:18 into the opening period. Jared Lambright fired a wrister inside the blue line that beat Camels goaltender Kellen Beauton (Colchester, Conn.) to give Williams a 1-0 lead. Following the play Conn was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for roughing.

On the ensuing power play, Jarin Sutton extended the Ephs lead when his wrister found the back of the net with the man advantage.

The Camels struck back just 1:37 into the second period. Following a shot on net from senior Rob Radochia (Woburn, Mass.), classmate Anthony Quatieri (Peabody, Mass.) corralled the loose puck and placed a wrist shot in the back of the net to cut the lead in half.

However, later in the period Williams would tack on two more scores to increase its lead to 4-1. Connor Tobin and Jonah Gold tallied goals for the Ephs, as the visitors carried a three-goal advantage heading into the final stanza.

Despite a physical third period, both teams held each other off the scoreboard, cementing a 4-1 victory for Williams.

Beauton stopped 28 shots for the Camels, while Williams goaltender Evan Ruschil made 30 saves. The Ephs held the edge in faceoff victories, triumphing 40 times over Conn's 26 wins.

Connecticut College (1-4 overall, 0-4 NESCAC) will be back in action at home on Tuesday, December 3 against Salem State University.
