WATERVILLE, Maine - Connecticut College wrapped up its weekend in Maine with a 4-0 loss to Colby Saturday night. Camel goalkeeper
Mike McHale made 27 saves compared to his counterpart Andy Beran's 19, but the Camels were unable to score any goals on the offensive end.
In the first period, neither team was able to score, as both goalkeepers were put to work and held their own. Camel goaltender McHale (Needham, Mass.) made 11 first period saves to keep Connecticut College in the game.
Once again, in the second period, scoring was scarce. With about a minute left in the period, Colby's Jacob Thousand scored on a rebound following an initial McHale save to give Colby a 1-0 lead. The lead held through the end of the second period and with just 20 minutes remaining, the Camels found themselves trailing and playing for a come-from-behind victory.
In the third period, Colby's Max O'Brien scored on a pass from teammate Jack Sullivan following a delayed penalty to give the Mules a two-goal advantage. Colby ended the contest scoring two more times on empty nets to bring their scoring total to four on the night.
