NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's lacrosse team fell to Williams college by a score of 17-10 on Friday evening at Silfen Field.
The Camels fell behind 4-1 early in the match and could not mount a comeback despite a valiant effort. A strong second quarter by the Ephs added to the struggle, pulling ahead by six goals at halftime by a total of 9-3. Sophomore Julia Ingrassia (Garden City, N.Y.) did her best to help her team come back into the game with one goal and four assists on the day, including a pass to freshman
Aine Downey (Brookline, Mass.) in the second quarter to bring the Camels back within striking distance of the Ephs. Despite the efforts of Ingrassia, Downey, and the rest of the Camels, the Williams lead was too much as the Ephs maintained no less than a four-point lead for the remainder of the contest.
Sophomore
Violette Nidds (Ridgewood, N.J.) took the loss for the Camels, making 9 saves on 26 attempts. Caitlyn Joyce earned the win for Williams while making 8 saves on 15 attempts.
