ORLANDO, Fla. – The Connecticut College women's tennis team rounded out its spring trip with a 6-3 victory over SUNY Oneonta on Thursday afternoon at the USTA National Campus Collegiate Center.

The Camels, who won all three matches in Florida this week, improved to 4-2 on the season. Conn trailed 2-1 after doubles play but rebounded to win five of six singles contests to seal the team victory.

Kinley Yangden (Thimphu, Butan) and Sana Bhat (New Delhi) came away with the Camels' lone point in doubles, cruising to an 8-1 win at the No. 3 spot. The other two matches were tighter, as Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and Anna Slopak (Taftville, Conn.) lost in a tiebreaker at the top position, and Courtney Banks (North Haven, Conn.) and Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) fell 8-6 at No. 2.

In singles action, four of the Camels' five wins came in straight sets. Cass picked up her third straight victory by besting Julia Holtermann at the top spot, and Banks earned her first win of the spring against Brianna Shaw at No. 3. Kerachsky gutted out a tough first set en route to her third-straight victory at No. 4, and Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) pulled out a victory at No. 6.

The match between Bhat and Sophia Schutte at the No. 2 position was the only one that was tied after two sets. In lieu of a third set, the two played a 10-point tiebreaker that resulted in a 10-5 win for the Camels. 

Conn College will next face SUNY Oneonta on Thursday, March 16 at 12:30 p.m.
