NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Connecticut College women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Emerson on Thursday afternoon at Luce Field House. With the victory, the Camels have won sixth straight matches and capped off a perfect 3-0 week with triumphs over the Lions, Mount Holyoke, and Wheaton.
Conn dominated in doubles action, sweeping all three contests. The No 1. pairing of
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Anna Slopak (Taftville, Conn.) were particularly impressive, shutting out their opponents 8-0.
In singles competition,
Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) played outstanding out of the No. 6 slot earning the double bagel win after not conceding a single game. Teammate
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) also performed well, picking up a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Also earning singles wins were Cass,
Sana Bhat (New Delhi),
Courtney Banks (North Haven, Conn.) and
Ella Griffiths (Concord, Mass.).
Connecticut College (7-2 overall) will look to win its seventh consecutive match on Sunday at home against Amherst.
