NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's tennis team had its six-game winning streak snapped by seventh-ranked Amherst College on Sunday morning, falling by a final score of 9-0.
The Mammoths captured all but one singles match in straight sets. Conn's
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) put up a fight at the No. 1 spot, taking the first set off Amy Cui by a 6-4 tally. However, Cui bounced back to win the second set 6-1, and she went on to edge Cass 11-9 in a 10-point tiebreaker.
Conn College (7-3 overall, 0-3 NESCAC) will next play at Middlebury College on Saturday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m.
