LEWISTON, Maine – The Connecticut College men's tennis team fell 9-0 at No. 35 Bates College on Saturday morning at the Wallach Tennis Center.
The Camels were competitive in doubles but lost all six singles matches in straight sets. Bates improved to 6-8 overall and 3-6 in league action.
Conn nearly picked up a point at No. 3 doubles as the squad of
Krishh Tipnis (Thane, India) and
Andy Feldman (Newton, Mass.) jumped out to a 2-0 lead. The duo later led 6-5 before Bates rallied to win the final three games for the sweep of the doubles portion.
In singles,
Walker Mulligan (Guilford, Conn.) and
Gavin Anderson (Avon, Conn.) each took five games off their opponents at the No. 4 and 5 spots, respectively.
Conn College (4-9 overall, 0-7 NESCAC) returns to action at Tufts University on Sunday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m.
