Women's Tennis Battles at Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's tennis team lost 9-0 against Trinity College on Saturday morning in a NESCAC showdown at the Assaiante Tennis Center.

The Camels fought harder than the final score might indicate, taking four singles matches into a third set or 10-point tiebreaker. Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine), Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) and Caroline Champa (Boston, Mass.) all dropped their first sets but rebounded to win the second. Sana Bhat (New Delhi) was the only Conn player to win her opening set, but Josephine Kimball rallied to capture the next two.

Bhat and Kinley Yangden (Thimphu, Bhutan) put up the toughest fight in doubles, falling by an 8-5 final at No. 3 against Kennedy White and Ella Baker. The Bantams picked up the other two doubles points by 8-3 tallies.

Conn College (7-6 overall, 0-6 NESCAC) will next play at Bates College on Saturday, April 15 at 2:00 p.m.
