ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Four members of the Connecticut College men's and women's track & field team competed at the Division III NCAA Championships over the weekend.
Jeffrey Love (Union, N.J.),
Chris Koskinen (Yarmouth, Maine),
Emma Wheeler (Meredith, N.H.) and
Erica MacSweeney (Canton, Mass.) took part in the national event held at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex on the campus of St. John Fisher.
On Thursday evening, Love raced in the 10k, finishing in 29:36.25, a new school record. The senior wrapped up his illustrious career with an 11th-place finish in the event.
Koskinen competed in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.75 meters for a 12th-place finish.
Wheeler took part in the heptathlon on Thursday and Friday. The junior placed 16th overall with 4,518 points, just seven points shy of her personal record. She also set a personal best in the 800, crossing the line in 2:38.14. Wheeler also performed well in the shot put, placing fourth in the event.
MacSweeney rounded out the competition by competing in the triple jump. The Massachusetts native recorded a measurement of 11.54 meters to round out her spectactular tenure as a Camel.
Connecticut College returns over 30 athletes on both the men's and women's teams for next season including Koskinen and Wheeler.
