CLINTON, N.Y. – Connecticut College dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 22 Hamilton College on Saturday afternoon in NESCAC field hockey action at Goodfriend Field.
Lilly Truchon scored a pair of goals as the Continentals improved to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in league play.
Bridget McGann (West Hartford, Conn.) found the back of the cage for the Camels, who fell to 2-5 overall (0-4 NESCAC).
Both of Truchon's goals came in the opening half and yielded Hamilton a 2-0 lead at the break. The Continentals then padded the margin to 4-0 behind goals from Lydon Kelley in the third period and Becky Felker in the fourth.
Conn got on the scoreboard with 8:02 left in the contest on McGann's second tally of the season.
McKalynn Jacobsen (Fairfield, Conn.) got things started with a pass from the sideline that found McGann near the penalty spot. With a defender on her back, McGann quickly turned and sent a backhanded flick past Hamilton goalie Abby Griffin.
Hamilton held a 14-5 advantage in shots, but the Camels earned a 6-3 edge in penalty corners. Conn goalie
