At 6:34, Sammons collected the puck in the corner, and working to the slot, fired a shot over the shoulder of Trinity goaltender Hannah Leclair to make it 1-0. Six minutes later, Sammons tallied her second goal of the contest, firing a shot from the top of the right circle, off the post, beating Leclair to make it 2-0, as Rylie Griffith (West Hartford, Conn.) and Sydney Frank (Stillwater, N.Y.) picked up the assists. Conn took the 2-0 lead into the third period.
Trinity came out strong in the final frame looking to cut into the deficit. The Bantams fired shots at Galizio, but the Camels held strong. With time running down, Conn was awarded a power play, making Trinity shorthanded with 2:17 to play. Trinity pulled Leclair for the extra attacker, but with the empty net, Casey Godfrey (Redondo Beach, Calif.) fired a shot from her own zone, finding the empty cage to make it 3-0 with 44 seconds left. Conn held on to come away with the 3-0 win.
