WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's cross country team finished eighth out of 18 teams at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday morning at Stanley Park.
Conn's top runners, who raced at the Pre-National Invitational last weekend, did not compete for training purposes. The Camels were represented very well by those team members who did not race a week ago.
Jacob Bright (New Hope, Pa.) led the Camels with a career-best 8K time of 28:14.8, good enough for 41st place overall.
Blake Rogers (Riverside, R.I.) and
Max Jervey (Norwell, Mass.) also cracked the 29-minute mark, as the former finished 52nd (28:38.0) and the latter 54th (28:46.7).
Dax Arnold (New York, N.Y.) and
Nicholas DeMarco (Albany, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Camels. Arnold finished 72nd in 29:26.5 while DeMarco checked in at 79th with a time of 29:38.0.
Henry Pfeifer (West Orange, N.J.) and
Ozan Turner (Concord, Mass.) filled out Conn's top-7 with times of 29:44.2 and 30:10.3, respectively.
Wesleyan University took home the team title with 32 points while Roger Williams University finished as runner-up (51 points). RWU's Dylan Beggins was the individual medalist with a time of 25:33.3.
The Camels will next host the Conn College Invitational on Saturday, October 19 at Harkness Park.
