BRISTOL, R.I. – The Connecticut College women's swimming and diving team coasted to a 188-74 victory at Roger Williams University on Saturday afternoon at the Aquatics Center.
The Camels were impressive across the board, winning 11 of 14 events while sweeping the top-3 spots in five events.
Campbell Baumgartner (Charlotte, N.C.) and
Jenna Charlat (Bedford, N.H.) led the charge with two solo wins apiece.
Morganne Young (Longwood, Fla.) and
Tessa Gordon (Cottage Grove, Wis.) each contributed to both of Conn's relay wins. With the help of Baumgartner and
Rosemary Bonadies (Nashville, Tenn.), the Camels opened the day by winning the 200 medley relay (1:50.84). Conn later capped the meet with a victory in the 200 free relay (1:42.01) aided by
Kailin Fuller (Bowdoinham, Maine) and
Hope Lane (Swarthmore, Pa.).
The Camels seized control early with victories in the first three solo events.
Claire Hoffmann (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) took the 1,000 free (11:03.64) by more than 13 seconds, and
Lauren Multari (Hamilton, N.J.) finished ahead of two teammates in the 200 free (2:02.4). Bonadies tacked on a victory in the 100 back (1:01.52), leading a pack of four Camels at the finish.
Baumgartner swam to victory in the 100 breast (1:09.42) and 200 breast (2:32.31), and Charlat did the same in the 200 back (2:14.05) and 400 IM (4:45.17). Young picked up a win in the 100 fly (1:00.39), and
Chloe Frandsen (Germantown, Tenn.) rounded out the list of winners in the 500 free (5:26.89).
Conn will next compete at Bowdoin College on Sunday, January 12 at 11:00 a.m.
