NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback against Bates College on Saturday afternoon in NESCAC play at Luce Field House.

Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) picked up an 8-5 victory over Isabella Saul and Julia Anderson at No. 2 to get things started.
Sana Bhat (New Delhi) and
Mary Ella Prendergast (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) followed suit at No. 3, dispatching Lizzie Frekko and Liv Gidlow by a 7-6 (5) final.
At No. 1 singles, Ally Friedman needed a third set to get past Cass. Iris Westmoreland dropped her opening set against
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) at No. 3 but rallied back to take the next two, and Ava Lyon overcame
Sana Bhat (New Delhi) at No. 6 in three sets. Predergast also put up quite a battle at No. 5 against Frekko but lost by a 7-6 (3), 7-6 (0) final.
