WATERVILLE, Maine – The Connecticut College women's tennis team opened the 2024 spring season with a pair of 9-0 road losses to Bowdoin College and Colby College over the weekend.
In doubles action at Bowdoin on Saturday, the top team of
Courtney Banks (North Haven, Conn.) and
Lily Kerachsky (East Greenwich, R.I.) took four games off the Polar Bears.
Caitlin Cass (Newcastle, Maine) and
Maya Kowalska (Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.) also put up tough battles at No. 1 and 5 singles, respectively, each falling by 6-3, 6-4 finals.
The Camels got another strong effort from Cass at No. 1 singles on Sunday at Colby. She took Sam Riordan to a first-set tiebreaker before falling by a 7-6, 6-4 final.
Conn (1-3 overall, 0-2 NESCAC) will next face the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on March 10 in Orlando, Fla.
